Been a very long time since I have done any updates to the site but things seem to be slowing down... a little. Hope to get to updating pages and info soon.

As much as it pained us we finally made the decision to have Buddy put to sleep today. He had difficulty moving around and was in constant pain... but he never lost his loving lab ways. Always there to rest his head on your lap or lick your hand. We got him off of death row at the Chicopee pound in August of 2000. Little did we know how much a part of our lives he would become for 11 years.
We were discussing how many motocross races he has been to; it has to be thousands of motos he has been to. He knew when it was time to head to the track and would plant himself at the front of the camper when it was time to hitch up, as if to say, "Not without me." He loved bikes and would lay in the grass and just watch when the kids practiced in the back yard. And to think he would run away from a vacuum cleaner when we first got him.
We are going to miss him dearly. Going to be real strange heading to the races this weekend and not saying, "Buddy, wanna go for a ride?"

Follow your racer - Get a text
Want to follow along and get immediate updates on how your racer is doing this weekend at the Amateur Regional at High Point?
There are two ways.
1) Follow along on the web at http://tracksideresults.com. John Dains, the creator and owner of the Trackside Scoring System is working the Amateur Regional this weekend and does a great job at updating those who couldn't make it to the track to watch live.
2) If you won't be in front of a computer or don't have a smartphone with web access during the racing you can get texts sent right to your phone! You will need to have your rider give you his or her transponder number.
Once you have the number simply subscribe for updates and you will have a text within seconds of when the rider crosses the finish line.
Here's how:
Lets say your rider has transponder number 12345.
Text "sub12345" (without the quotes) to text@mxtext.com
Shortly you will receive a reply with a code such as "S78".
You then reply to that text with the code given to you.
You will then get a reply stating your subscription has been activated.
Kick back and wait for the racing to begin!

Winchester SpeedPark took a field trip to MX338 on Saturday and Ryann had her first races as a 'B' rider. She did very well, going 8-10 for 7th in the 250B, 6-7 for 6th in the Youth A-B and 1-1 in the Women. She had some pretty good lap times, learned a lot about racing in the faster class... and was pretty sore on Sunday.

Dana and Ryann have each had their last Lacrosse games. Dana's team finished with an 11-2 win over Watertown High School. Ryann's team finished with an 11-4 win over The Williston Northampton School.

Can't believe how fast these 18 years have gone and all you
have accomplished in that time. Just another week you will say
goodbye to your friends and brothers at
Avon Old Farms. In the fall it's off to
Marquette
University to start another chapter in your life. We are all so very proud of you.
Happy Birthday!
Ryann had to battle for it but she qualified to move on to The Regional; the next step towards the 30th annual AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. She did it with a 1-1 race at Winchester SpeedPark. Ryann will be racing her KTM 150SX in the Women's class at Broome Tioga in Richford, NY June 11-12.

A huge thank you to Mark Hager and Spectro Oils for the support this season.
Factory Connection has come out with their 2011 catalog and you can view it in .pdf format by clicking right here.
NOTE: As of this season you must purchase
your transponders online from
MXTransponder.com so they can track warranties.
Transponders are no longer available for purchase from
Winchester Speedpark, NESC, Canaan or the VMA. The
organization do have a limited number available for daily
rental.
The version of transponder being used at WSP, Canaan, NESC and the VMA are far superior to the old
boot mount type. They give a stronger signal at the finish line and will last 8 YEARS. They do need
some help from you though. You MUST recharge these transponders just like any other device you own with a
battery… think cell phone!
Charging your transponder
1) Remove your transponder from the bike and place it in the charging cradle. John Dains from Trackside
recommends a charge of 4 to 6 hours between your race weekends.
*Charge for NO MORE than 18 hours. Charging for more than 18 hours at once can actually reduced the
lifespan of the NiCad battery in the transponder.
2) Once charging is complete simply unplug the charger
but leave the transponder in the cradle. Being in
the cradle places the transponder in “sleep mode” which turns it off and keeps its charge.
Mounting your transponder
1) Tightly zip tie the mount to your upper right fork tube. There is a stamp on the mount
that shows which end should be pointing towards the track.
2) Place transponder in mount and clip in with the heavy rubber strap. Again, the
transponder has a stamp which shows you the direction to mount.
That’s all there is to it. It's not hard but you need to
treat it like any other maintenance you do to your bike between
race weekends.
No longer can you tell the kids about the winters you had back when you were a kid. This IS a winter like back when you were a kid. Enough already. We won't be racing the New England tracks until the end of April at this rate.
For 2011 Ryann will be racing a KTM 150SX
in the Women's and Youth C classes.
Now that the banquets have been held and the Champions crowned I guess we can officially call the 2010 season a wrap. Ryann had a very good year taking the Spring and Fall Girl's class Championships at Winchester SpeedPark as well as the New England Girl's Championship at the 2010 N.E.R.C. (New England Regional Championship). She also got her first ever "Ironman" award at Winchester for starting and finishing each and every moto of the spring series. In years past she has always missed one or two races due to National qualifiers but 2010 worked out right. No scheduling conflicts and no injuries.
Speaking of scheduling. I have updated the Schedules page with the 2011 schedules for the various New England racing organizations. It is not complete but I will keep updating it as information comes in. There is also a "Printer Friendly" version of the page for you to print out and hang in your race rig, in your garage or on the refrigerator.
For those who may not have heard. KTM has come out of the woods and put up contingency on the motocross tracks at WSP, NEMX, NESC and NEMA for the 2011 season. If you ride KTM be sure to thank Brooks Hamilton, KTM North America's Northeast Area Sales Manager when you see him.
If you are looking to get a new KTM for the 2011 season be
sure to talk to the guys at
Cliff's
Cycles in Norfolk, MA.
New England Riders do well in Tennessee Heat
There was record heat in Tennessee this year. Officially it
was reported at a 116 degree heat index during Ryann's moto on Wednesday but I think
if you asked anyone there they would say it was hotter!
Hats off to the Christian Motorcyclist Association and the whole MXSports crew who did a fantastic job of taking care of the
riders.
I have posted photos from the week here.

In an effort to bring a little continuity to the site I have incorporated the design of our
message board throughout the entire site.
I am in the process of updating all the pages across the site so it's just a matter of moving the content
(the pictures and words) into the new layout. Now that I have the design down it shouldn't take too long get
the rest of the site done.
One of the features I've added is "HighSlide". If you see a photo (like the one to the left)
you can give it a click and see a larger size without having to
navigate away from the page you are on. This won't be the
case for all photos but go ahead and give it a try.
